At Coundon Court, we believe in the importance of languages and wish to enable our students to develop the linguistic skills necessary to succeed at a later stage in their lives.

Students will study either French or Spanish when they first join the school in Year 7 and will take this language until the end of Year 11. Students have the opportunity continue their language studies to A Level.

We wish to offer our students a wide range of opportunities to put into practice what they have learnt in lessons and for that reason we run annual trips to France and Spain. We are in the process of expanding the range of international trips that we offer and are looking to develop further links with schools in French and Spanish-speaking countries across the world.

Further to our growing range of trips, there are also other activities of a linguistic nature organised within the school such as lunchtime clubs, visiting speakers, workshops and one-off events to mark important dates including the European Day of Languages.
